Narrawallee Beach is renowned as being one of the best beaches on the coast for walking along. The sand has the rare distinction of being particularly soft, white and powdery underfoot, yet firm and hard for easy walking and jogging at the water's edge.
At the northern end of Narrawallee is Narrawallee Inlet. It is the perfect spot if you have young children as it is well protected and not too deep. Easy access for families, play area is also available plus, gas BBQ and tables placed around the reserve.
Both Narrawallee and Mollymook beaches are patrolled in summer, and there are places tucked away in nearby grassy shade areas - or just a short drive away to a scenic headland with panoramic views - that are perfect for family picnics. Or, if a BBQ, a cold beer and a refreshing G&T are needed, being home is only a moment away from the sand and surf.
Younger children will love paddling and sandcastle-building while the older ones will have plenty to do with surfing, canoeing, board-riding and fishing.
Oh - and walking along the beach on a balmy summer's night in the light of a full moon is definitely not to be missed.
